The Westphal College of Media Arts & Design is proud to announce the Bachelor of Science in Interactive Digital Media (IDM) is now recognized as a U.S. Department of Education STEM Designated Degree Program. The Department of Homeland Security bases its STEM Designated Degree Program List on the U.S. Department of Education’s National Center for Education Statistics definition of a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) field.
“This new classification opens the door to many more scholarship opportunities for IDM students and also increases opportunities for international students by extending their current 12 month visa to 24 months, making them eligible for more employment opportunities in the states,” says IDM Program Director, Troy Finamore.
This announcement comes on the heels of exciting news that Drexel University has made it to the Forbes list of Top 25 STEM Colleges in the U.S.
